Chris Brown leaves court after a hearing for his assault cause on Wednesday afternoon (January 8) in Washington, D.C.
The 24-year-old singer was joined by his girlfriend Karreuche and his bodyguard Chris Hollosy, who is also being prosecuted in the case.
Both Chris and his bodyguard rejected a plea deal for one count of simple assault. They were both accused of hitting a man outside of a D.C. hotel back in October after the man tried to get a photo with the singer.
Since he did not take the plea deal for the lesser charge, Chris now faces misdemeanor assault, which carries a more severe penalty.
